The dating site is forecasting their busiest day of the year, anticipating that their members will send an increased number of likes and messages and have an above-average amount of conversations.
While this is envisioned to take place throughout the day, the peak of the frenzy is likely to be in the late evening, with numbers anticipated to be at their highest between 9 and 12 pm.
In the online dating world this first Sunday in January is often the busiest day of the year, leading to it earning the name ‘Dating Sunday.’ 2020 won’t be the first year that EliteSingles has been part of the Dating Sunday trend – the same day in 2019 also saw a sharp uptick in member activity, with a 21% boost in members online and an almost 40% rise in all other online actions.

It’s the first weekend after New Year’s Eve, which means that people have not only set themselves New Year’s resolutions, they’ve had a few days to think about how to put them into practice. Additionally, it’s about 6 weeks out from Valentine’s Day, meaning that singles who spark something on the 5th of Jan have plenty of time before the 14th of Feb to find a date”
Luciana adds “Singles should also remember that, while Dating Sunday is traditionally EliteSingles’ busiest day, member activity tends to stay higher than average right through to Valentine’s Day.”
