Single and looking for a partner who can make you laugh? Set your search criteria for Scottsdale, AZ. A new study from premium dating site EliteSingles has found that the city is home to the funniest singles in America.

The EliteSingles study looked at random, anonymous data from 450,000 singles, focusing on how strongly people agreed with the statement ‘I often make others laugh.’ After collating these results into geographic averages, the dating site determined the US cities with the highest percentages of funny singles:

The study also split the results by gender, revealing another win for Scottsdale as the home of America’s funniest men. However, when it comes to funny women, Scottsdale only manages fourth place. San Francisco takes first.

Is ‘funny’ really one of the traits Americans are looking for in a partner? According to EliteSingles users, emphatically yes! The dating company also polled 700 people about whether a sense of humor is important when it comes to love. Nearly all respondents – 96% – said that it is vital for a couple to share a sense of humor.
Additionally, a good sense of humor could make you more attractive. 92% of users polled said that their attraction to someone would increase if that person made them laugh. And 81% said their attraction to someone would increase if that person laughed at their jokes.
